The hiring range for this role is: 125,870.00 - 176,525.00

This is the lowest to highest salary we, in good faith, believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the hiring range andthis hiringrange may also be modified in the future. A candidate's position within the hiring range may be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs.This job is also eligible for annual bonusincentivepay.

Job Description Summary

Strategy at BCBSA is comprised of two functions: Corporate Strategy and Internal Strategy Partners. The BCBSA Corporate Strategy team is responsible for leading key strategic efforts in support of the BCBSA System North Star. The BCBSA Internal Strategy Partners team is responsible for partnering closely with Executive Leadership Team (ELT) members and embedding across BCBSA business units to elevate content for key discussions and provide thought leadership on critical topics.

The Director, Strategy will focus on managing corporate strategy projects to support BCBSA Board-directed needs. Responsibilities include scoping out projects, developing and managing teams, building relationships with key stakeholders, facilitating / delivering key findings and insights to senior leaders, and assuming full accountability on project outcomes. Strategic thinking and the ability to mentor junior team members in frameworking, storylining, and presentation development based on audience is key for the Director role. In addition to guiding project outcomes, The Director may manage 1-4 direct reports and various team members on projects.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Lead corporate or internal strategy projects in its entirety or components through scoping of work, development of teams, and development / presentation of deliverables to meet desired outcomes set by senior leadership

Manage 1-4 direct reports including performance management, staffing, training and development, and mentorship

Contribute to other Corporate Strategy job functions that include, but not limited to, the Plan Liaison program and ad hoc presentation development for senior leadership.

Required Education, Certifications and Experience

Bachelors Degree

Related business experience

Experienced in staff management and development

Experience with strategy development and analytical work

Experience in creating client-ready project deliverables

Experience in project management

Experience working in Corporate Strategy or Strategy Consulting

Experience with leading large corporate strategy projects in healthcare

Experienced leader in all aspects of staff management, development, and effective teambuilding

Experience in creating C-suite level project deliverables

Demonstrated team leadership ability and ability to mentor and coach junior staff

Familiarity with health insurance industry and concepts

Seasoned strategist with strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills to lead hypothesis development and integration

Proven ability to work effectively with a variety of colleagues in different disciplines (e.g., members of BCBSA, local BCBS companies and other outside organizations and individuals)

Ability to generate actionable insights from analytical work

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including strong facilitation and presentation skills with senior executives

Preferred Education, Certifications and Experience

Masters Degree

Healthcare Insurance background

Business strategy consulting experience
