Job Summary:
The Digital Media Content Specialist plays a key role in the digital strategy and content marketing practice within Kellogg Executive Education. The school is an ever-evolving institution with a wealth of ideas and people providing rich opportunities for uncovering and telling stories that build the Kellogg brand and advance the business goals of Executive Education.
In collaboration with the broader Marketing team, the Specialist develops a wide range of digital content to generate awareness, drive engagement, and ultimately support conversion (registration for Executive Education programs). Reporting to the Associate Director of Content Strategy, this role will focus on the creation and sharing of digital content across all of Kellogg's channels, with an emphasis on social media and website assets (both written and creative design elements).
Written content will cover a diverse set of formats and applications - everything from promotional social media posts to longer-form interviews with faculty and participants that generate leads and drive registrations. The role also provides support for the creation of other digital media, including photography, video, graphic design, and streaming of events. This position maintains a database of digital assets for Executive Education and acts as a liaison to other departments seeking content and media.
Specific Responsibilities:
Create original digital content to support Kellogg's content marketing across all Executive Education offerings.
Write and edit social media posts, profiles, and articles.
Partner with the Marketing team and Exec Ed program development team to distill complex program information into highly engaging content that resonates with - and motivates - Kellogg's target audiences.
Collaborate with the Marketing team and faculty to develop comprehensive editorial calendars that articulate a cohesive vision and highlight stories that create the greatest value for the organization.
Build relationships across Kellogg that allow visibility into different sources and creators of thought leadership.
Serve as a video producer for Exec Ed, organizing and managing shoots with faculty, past program participants, etc. Edit existing video content into shorter clips to post on social channels and the website.
Post content to social channels, maintain dashboards, analyze metrics, and make recommendations to optimize our strategies over time.
Survey the marketing and cultural landscape to identify emerging trends that Kellogg can tap into to increase the sophistication of our marketing and position the brand as a leader in Executive Education.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: (Education, experience, and any other certifications or clearances)
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in the humanities, journalism, marketing, or a related field.
Excellent skills in writing and editing; experience working across digital channels to support an integrated and adaptive strategy.
Expertise in social media platforms; deep understand of user behavior, storytelling opportunities unique to each platform, and strategies for driving engagement.
Ability to conceive overarching content plans while also developing an extensive amount of digital content to support the overall strategy.
Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, web, video standards and photography.
Experience with digital video production.
Experience with analytical tools, digital production suites and both web and social media publishing platforms such as Sprout, Hootsuite, etc.
Experience with design platforms like Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign to create graphics for social channels.
