As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking, you will lead multiple tech teams in the personalization and insights (P&I) program. You will be responsible to collaborate with product leaders to define the technology strategy and roadmap, to lead, mentor and grow the engineering teams, to define integration strategies with adjacent product areas, and ultimately to deliver and launch engineering deliverables that enrich a personalized customer experience.

Job responsibilities

+ Manager of engineering teams and responsible for the technology delivery of the product priorities. A strong technical focus on \“building the right thing in the right way\” to enable high quality solutions that meet customers’ needs

+ Engage with business stakeholders to break down complex and ambiguous problems into technical design that an engineering team can implement under your guidance

+ Champion engineering practices; Improve the effectiveness of the Engineering teams through coaching, mentoring and resolution of impediments

+ Partner with leadership team for driving NFR, Modernization initiatives and controls

+ Influence peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams

+ Accountable for decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures

+ Ensures successful collaboration across teams and stakeholders

+ Identifies and mitigates issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessary

+ Provides input to leadership regarding budget, approach, and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies and functionality for the team

+ Creates a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for team members and prioritizes diverse representation

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

+ Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience in software engineering and development

+ Experience leading teams of technologists

+ Ability to guide and coach teams on approach to achieve goals aligned against a set of strategic initiatives

+ Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent

+ Experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines

+ Extensive practical cloud native experience; AWS patterns and services for big data processing, stream processing, application serving

+ Demonstrated ability to engineer for high availability, high resiliency, low latency and scale

+ Expertise with NoSQL databases (Cassandra, MongoDB, etc.)

+ Proficiency in multiple modern programming languages Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Kafka and Spark

+ Experience in Agile development and good understanding of SDLC methodologies/guidelines

+ Excellent communication and problem solving skills

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

+ Experience working at code level

+ Flink (preferred)
