Job Description

VCA Cat Hospital of Chicago is seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician or Recent Technician Graduate to join our Purrfect team!

Schedule: Full-time opportunity with flexible scheduling. We utilize a 4 × 10 hour work week.

Location: 2851 W Irving Park Rd, Chicago, IL 60618

We are located in the Irving Park neighborhood of Chicago, IL.

At VCA Cat Hospital of Chicago, we are a cat-only hospital in the always-growing heart of Irving Park . We are proudly AAHA accredited , providing compassionate, low-stress, feline-friendly veterinary care. We have been designated as a Gold Standard Cat-Friendly Practice by the American Association of Feline Practitioners, and our doctors are all active members of the AAFP.

We are a full-service facility offering Emergency care, Hospitalization, Preventative/Routine medical care. In addition to our general Veterinary services, we offer advanced services such as laser therapy, feline radioactive thyroid I-131 treatment, ultrasound, advanced soft tissue surgeries, advanced dental procedures, and echocardiogram.

Our team is dependable, adaptable, fun, detail oriented and great multitaskers. Our CVTs provide compassionate veterinary care to our patients.

+ Assist doctors with exams, treatments and procedures.

+ Venipuncture and IVC placement

+ Administer SQ fluids, medications, etc.

+ Work in conjunction with all technical staff across the hospital to ensure hospitalized patients are receiving the best possible care and communicating frequently with the team.

+ Recognize subtle change in clinical status.

+ Discharge instructions with clients when they are able to bring their furry family member back home with them.

+ Complete estimates, basic record keeping.

+ Surgical preparation and assisting.

+ Anesthesia monitoring.

+ Dentistry.

+ I-131 treatment.
