In the performance of their respective tasks and duties all employees are expected to satisfy the following:

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

  • Maintenance of LCMSMS, GCMS and GCFID instruments, documentation of instrument maintenance
  • Sequencing sample tables
  • Reviewing, processing and printing data in an accurate and timely fashion
  • Preparation of some samples for analysis
  • Dilution or re-derivatization of samples for reinjection
  • Verification of sample tables
  • Maintain chain of custody documents
  • Creating GCMS and LCMSMS methods
  • Mobile phase filtration and preparation
  • Emptying instrument waste
  • Keeping inventory of laboratory consumables, keeping consumables organized, verifying receipt of consumables into the laboratory and putting them away
  • Glassware washing
  • Department training, department meetings, participate and execute special projects
  • Clean GCMS/LCMSMS laboratory areas
  • Other tasks as assigned
Requirements:
  • BS/BA degree majoring in one of the chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory/medical technology sciences ( 16 semester hours of chemistry, which included at least 6 semester hours in inorganic/general chemistry; and 16 semester hours of biology courses). 3 semester hours of mathematics; and in-house laboratory training.
  • Two plus years of professional experience in a forensic/clinical lab setting and completion of the USDTL Negative Certifying Scientist Training within 90 days of start date or as scheduling allows.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Special Position Requirements


Lab positions generally involve handling of biohazardous materials. At times, overtime may be required.


Scheduled hours for are Tuesday through Saturday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
