Role description:

As an Assistant Project Manager, you will support project teams and business goals by developing and driving project plans, managing cross-functional teams, and coordinating activities within the established project timelines. Projects will vary greatly, from interior fit outs, to new build laboratories and industrial buildings. Your responsibilities will span all project phases: planning, design/preconstruction, procurement, construction, commissioning, demolition and decommissioning of abandoned assets, and handover to client. Role accountabilities:

  • Providing leadership to on-site construction teams overseeing daily construction work.
  • Leading and foster a safe working environment.
  • Motivating teams and celebrate successes.
  • Support tendering processes, including development of RFPs, bid review and clarification, and development and execution of design, procurement, and construction contracts.
  • Ensuring contractor schedules, conduct, and document all construction meetings including construction progress meetings, safety meetings, and inspections including distributing minutes of the meetings.
  • Reviewing submittals for conformance with contract documents.
  • Coordinating RFIs as required.
  • Track permitting requirements and compliance through project completion.
  • Coordinating design reviews and approvals between owner and contractors.
  • Managing work to follow regulatory and industry requirements, including multiple permitting jurisdictions.
  • Support contract buyouts.
  • Reviewing contractor invoices for contract compliance.
  • Validating and certify contractor payroll.
  • Take an active role in partnership with the construction manager to ensure control of work adherence.
  • Be present at the job site and provide leadership to construction team members.
  • Monitoring contractor adherence to safety standards and approved plans.
  • Maintaining accurate project files, meetings records and correspondence.
  • Verifying contractors provide all applicable certificates of insurance prior to any work being performed.
  • Oversee project commissioning and handover process.
  • Working collaboratively to move tenants into the new workspace and provide support.
  • Providing weekly and monthly client reporting packages to senior and executive leaders within the client and Arcadis organizations.
  • Leading by example and providing mentorship to young career professionals.
