The American Hospital Association (AHA) is a national organization that represents and serves all types of hospitals, health care networks, and their patients and communities. The AHA has two main offices, located in Washington, D.C. and Chicago. We are currently seeking a Program Specialist, Health Equity Strategies, which can be based out of either our Chicago or Washington, D.C. location. This position is a hybrid role (three days in the office, two days working remote).
Starting base salary = $61,000 - $76,500 (commensurate with related experience).
Program Specialist for Health Equity Strategies provides programmatic assistance and project support for AHA's health equity projects. Assists in the daily coordination of assigned projects and initiatives. Serves as key logistics support for IFDHE's meetings, events and annual conference. Often acts as the point of contact between the executives and internal or external colleagues, including scheduling calls and meetings with C-suite leaders of AHA member organizations. Supports research and evaluation activities and coordinates projects for the program. Synthesizes the results of meetings, maintains databases and drafts reports or presentations for leadership.
Coordinate projects and initiatives for the Institute for Diversity and Health Equity (IDHE), including implementation activities for IFDHE's signature product, the Health Equity Roadmap.
Assist team with logistical support and project coordination for AHA meetings, events and annual conference planning.
Support project management activities, including submission of applications, financial reports for grant-funded projects, and project deliverables.
Conduct interviews and develop case studies of promising practices from the field.
Support the submission process for health equity programming.
Support research and evaluation activities for multiple projects, including conducting reviews of peer-reviewed and grey literature sources across a variety of subject areas. Assist with collecting data through interviews, environmental scans, and reviews of secondary data sources.

Education
Bachelors of PUBLIC HEALTH-HEALTH ADMINISTRATION (required)

Experience
3 - 5 years: Minimum 3 years' experience in participating in multiple aspects of projects, supporting the development of programs, including assisting in project research is required. 
Experience working in health systems, social services, or in the public health sector is preferred.
