Job Summary
Consistent with Northwestern's commitment to fostering a culture of access, belonging, and accountability, the Office of Civil Rights and Title IX Compliance (OCR) Outreach and Education Coordinator will be responsible for the development, implementation, and assessment of all required and optional Office of Civil Rights and Title IX Compliance training for the entire university community (faculty, staff, and students). In collaboration with others in OCR the Outreach and Education Coordinator will monitor the legal and regulatory environment and implement responsive programs related to harassment, discrimination, sexual misconduct, and other matters related to OCR.
The coordinator will also develop and maintain materials to communicate the educational mission of OCR to the University community, including managing the Office website content, social media presence, and printed education and training materials.
The Outreach and Education Coordinator will report to the Director, Civil Rights and Title IX Compliance. The Outreach and Education Coordinator will collaborate with campus offices and partners, including the Center for Awareness, Response, and Education (CARE); Division of Student Affairs; Office of Human Resources (including the Learning and Organization Development team); Office of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion (OIDI); Office for Global Marketing and Communication (OGMC); as well as graduate and undergraduate student groups and the Associated Student Government.
Please Note: Typical office environment with standard equipment. Position requires travel between Evanston and Chicago campuses and off-campus locations. Duties require some evening and weekend availability on campus to conduct presentations or training activities.

Principal Accountabilities
Development and delivery of programming
Develop and deliver comprehensive educational programming (in the form of presentations, workshops, roundtables, speaker events and training sessions) to the University community addressing topics including sexual misconduct, discrimination and harassment.
Work with CARE and other campus partners in developing and delivering culturally responsive educational programming and outreach for students on sexual misconduct.
Design and deliver programming to increase awareness of University policies and processes, options for reporting, and resources for people affected by sexual misconduct, harassment, and discrimination.
Identify populations in need of education and design culturally relevant and specific programming to meet specific needs.
Development and distribution of outreach materials
Develop, distribute and publicize materials, including pamphlets, posters, newsletters, other print materials, website content, videos, and multi-media content to faculty, staff, and students to increase awareness of sexual misconduct, harassment, and discrimination, and of University resources, reporting and complaint resolution process, as well as increasing awareness of topics related to equity, diversity, and reasonable accommodations.
Strategic planning
Following guidance from the Director, Civil Rights and Title IX Compliance, create and implement a strategic education and outreach plan for sexual misconduct, harassment, and discrimination prevention.
Conduct benchmarking of other universities' training programs; assess the effectiveness of Northwestern's existing training programs for sexual misconduct, discrimination, and harassment prevention, and collaborate with campus partners to make recommendations for expanding existing programming and implementing new programs and campaigns.
Online training
In collaboration with Human Resources (HR) Update and assist in administration of the University's existing online training modules for sexual misconduct, harassment, and discrimination.
Program evaluation and recordkeeping
Administer evaluations of programming. Regularly evaluate feedback from participants and community members. Assess effectiveness of programming.
Maintain complete records of all prevention, education, and outreach efforts related to sexual misconduct and equity throughout campus. Create annual reports of outreach and education efforts.
