Manager, Solution Architecture

We are actively seeking a talented Solution Architectto work in our architecture team tackling complex problems in support of associate experience applications. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to integrate into a dynamic environment are essential to succeeding in this role. Candidates must be able to effectively communicate and influence partners horizontally.
This role will support the technical design and implementation of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems with a focus on delivering efficient, reliable, resilient, scalable, and high performing solutions. The role is accountable for partnering with various teams in identifying options, driving reviews and detailed analysis, developing solutions and providing technical direction.

General Responsibilities:

Develop a thorough understanding of our business products and domains

Demonstrate and translate business needs into technical solutions

Partner with appropriate domains to intake & triage new Intents

Collaborate heavily across Product, Architecture, and Engineering to refine intent and drive solution consensus

Communicate and collaborate with technical, project, and business resources verbally and through written documentation.

Provide high-quality system solutions that focus on reuse, scalability, resilience and performance

Identify technical obstacles early and work closely with teams to find creative solutions

Educate team members on capabilities and constraints of technology platforms and trade-offs

Ensure all architecture decisions, risks, dependencies and downstream impacts are properly documented, communicated and understood.

Support the health of production systems by building quality into the discovery, planning, and analysis phases of delivery

Recognize automation opportunities and design and implement data quality strategies

Implements standard architectural patterns and solutions to increase design and implementation efficiency

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or military experience

At least 6 years of experience with systems analysis and design

At least 6 years of experience as an application or solution architect

At least 4 years experience in cloud technology (AWS, GCP, or Azure)

At least 4 years experience with an Agile environment

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree

7+ years with TOGAF, C4, or similar architecture frameworks

Familiarity with lean principles

Experience engaging, influencing, and driving initiatives by partnering with technology executives

Experience mentoring engineers or architects

Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to a variety of audiences

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $201,400 - $229,900 for Manager, Solution Architecture

San Francisco, California (Hybrid On-Site): $213,400 - $243,500 for Manager, Solution Architecture

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
