What You Can Expect
As our Project Developer, you will support the site origination and development of distributed solar and solar + storage projects for ENGIE Distributed Solar and Storage (DSS) in the United States. In this role, you will manage various tasks to facilitate land acquisition, permitting, environmental review, pre-construction, and other aspects of solar energy and storage project development, ultimately contributing to the company's renewable energy goals and growth strategy in North America. Additionally, you will possess strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills, along with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a positive and professional attitude. This position can be based in Chicago, IL, or Houston, TX, and reports to the Project Development Manager. The role offers a hybrid schedule, combining both in-office and work-from-home days.
Oversee development of solar and storage portfolios from early to late stages, including site origination and acquisition across multiple states. Coordinate land acquisition, permitting, interconnection, real estate, and design activities
Run financial models for portfolio analysis and future lease rates. Collaborate with internal teams to set goals and track project progress
Build relationships with stakeholders, including customers and landowners. Facilitate meetings and attend relevant events to keep stakeholders informed
Support RFPs, diligence for M&A opportunities, and prepare project reviews. Develop tools for tracking progress and manage third-party consultants
What You'll Bring
You hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Environmental Sciences, Economics or related field
A minimum of two (2) years of experience working in the field of solar and/or renewable energy
You have project management experience working on multiple projects and managing stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
You possess unimpeachable integrity and a team-first attitude
You hold a high degree of creative problem-solving acumen, especially in the context of renewables transactions and project development
You are proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint or CRM tools
You have strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present to diverse audiences including landowners, potential off-takers, and government officials
Additional Details
This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy; consisting of with a minimum of three (3) days in the office
Must be available to travel domestically up to 25% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips
Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
Compensation
Salary Range: $84,000- $123,200 USD annually
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus
