Job Description
Janitor Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Performs cleaning, housekeeping, and light maintenance tasks and services.
- Gathers and disposes of trash, wastebaskets, and relines with plastic bags.
- Assists with the cleaning and sanitizing of shared facilities and common spaces
- Washes windows.
- Cleans assigned areas by washing furnishings and equipment and floors
- Vacuums and dust windowsills, blinds, floors, furniture, and equipment in orderly fashions
- Cleans and polishes sinks, toilets and mirrors.
- Treats clients, co-workers, the public, state officials and consultants with respect, courtesy and tact.
- Examines property for safety hazards; reports problems to management or other appropriate staff
- Ability to screen, assess and provide interventions for consumers that are exhibiting symptoms of trauma
- Follows agency policy and procedure for all reports of abuse and neglect or suspected abuse and neglect.
Janitor Skills & Knowledge: Ability to read labels and maintain proper knowledge of safety during use of chemicals and maintain SDS information; thorough understanding of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions basic computer skills; detailed-oriented and thorough; ability to keep the property clean and orderly; good interpersonal skills with polite and courteous demeanor toward residents, staff, and visitors to the property; basic computer skills.
Janitor Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of standing and walking; must be physically able to bend, stoop, push, pull, and climb step stool, Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 50lbs
