Wieland is hiring a Transportation Service Specialist.
The Transportation Services Specialist supports the Wieland recycling business unit with the execution of sustainability and recycling strategy in transporting scrap across the United States.
The Transportation Services Specialist is detail-orientated role that focuses on providing customer service to internal and external customers along with providing logistics support to our local and over-the-road drivers. This role communicates, collaborate, and provide support to other departments such as Commercial, Finance, Operations, etc., to resolve issues.

 


Responsibilities

 

Role Title Responsibilities:
Prioritize customer service with all our internal and external customers (including vendors).
Respond promptly within all communication channels, even if it is just acknowledging the request.
Maintain good business relationships with our customers and internal Commercial department to resolve issues timely and effectively.
Improve customer satisfaction by keeping records of customer interactions, comments, and complaints.
Gather and analyze data and other appropriate input to make independent timely decisions in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
Perform computer functions using Microsoft Office / Access to complete reports, spreadsheets, emails, memos, look up information, etc.
Creates, maintains, and enters information into databases using company/internal freight monitoring system(s).
Complete forms and reports in accordance with company procedures.
Ensure all orders are correctly input and include complete information such as correct coding, PO numbers, loading/unloading instructions, pick-up and delivery times, and other special instructions from the customer.
Communicate and coordinate with our customers to maintain pickup and delivery schedules. Generate driver's reports for schedules and payroll.
Work closely with our Commercial team to understand contract requirements.
Strategically work with management to improve efficiency and grown the transportation division.
Role Title Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
Proven background in a customer service position. At least 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
Functional knowledge of transportation, preferably in recyclables industry.
Ability to multitask and manage priorities.
Strong organizational skills, maintains a clean environment, and implements efficient processes.
Addresses customer concerns professionally and concisely, both verbally and in writing, maintaining professionalism at all times.
Positive attitude, adaptable to challenges in the trucking industry.
Diligent in completing projects on time and meeting deadlines.
Ability to solve moderately complex problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Outlook; able to analyze data and use formulas. Access experience is preferred but not required.
Good communication skills; conveys information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing; adjusts communication to meet the needs of the audience. Must speak fluent English (multilingual is a plus).
Adapts to change quickly and easily and performs effectively during times of change; demonstrates the ability to multi-task and manages competing priorities effectively.
Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrate strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Be a safety champion by promoting a safe and productive workplace through your own actions, including the proper use of PPE, safe operation of powered equipment and safe lifting techniques as determined by the role.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to move frequently, stand, walk, and sit. The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
