Job Description
PASSENGER RAIL CAR TRUCK REPAIR/REBUILD TECHNICIAN
- Must have experience in 2 axle & 3 axle repair/rebuild to Amtrak SMP’s.
- Able to inspect on site truck derailment damage, analyze, and determine the feasibility of repair/overhaul cost estimate.
- Able to perform Non-Destructive Testing (magnetic powder, visual dye penetrant and others).
- Able to perform truck component refurbishment.
- Able to perform pre-heat preliminary work for major truck straightening and/or components, including welding components.
- Able to tram truck frame, pedestal legs in accordance with OEM & Amtrak SMP’s.
- Able to assist in heat treating/post heat treating; weld stress relieving process to OEM/Amtrak SMP’s.
- Able to understand, perform and record Brinell Readings pre & post heat treating.
- Capable of estimating man hours necessary for truck repair/rebuild process.
