Job Summary
Perform a variety of tasks in the operation, maintenance, and repair of building, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment as well as utility systems, with emphasis on pneumatic and digital controls and refrigeration.
Salary Grade
Essential Functions
Performs tasks incidental to, and necessary for, the operation of a central chiller plant and related equipment
Maintains and lubricates mechanical equipment
Makes recommendations to supervisor regarding new equipment while controlling adjustments and repairs
Installs, repairs, and maintains electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems and their components
Demonstrates strong commitment to continuous improvement
Other Duties and Responsibilities
Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
Proven knowledge of tools and equipment
Mechanical and electrical maintenance experience
Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a Class C driver's license.
Basic knowledge of operation of steam boilers, hot water boilers, and related equipment
Knowledge of pneumatic and digital controls
Ability to respond to emergency calls in a reasonable time
Ability to work well with students, faculty, staff and the general public
High school graduate
Preferred Qualifications
Course work in vocational or trade school
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
Employee is subject to both indoor and outdoor environmental conditions (temperatures varying from below 32 degrees to over 90 degrees) for periods of over one hour, subject to hazards such as proximity to moving parts, electrical current, etc., and involves heavy work exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly in order to move objects. Must be able to climb stairs and ladders and lift 50 pounds.
Work Hours
Work hours for this position are 7:00am-3:30pm Monday through Friday with rotating weekends.
Willingness to work overtime as needed.
