Job Description

Looking to pick up some warehouse experience while working in a positive, team-oriented environment? Staffmark is hiring a new Material Handler to work for our client in Elk Grove Village, IL. If a Monday through Friday workweek just doesn't align with your work-life balance needs, this is the perfect temp-to-hire position for you!
Pay: $18.34 per hour
1st Shift Hours: 7 AM - 7 PM, on a rotating schedule (3 days on, 4 days off)
Material Handler Responsibilities:
Remove folded signatures from web press and place signatures on pallets or skids for removal to warehouse or binding areas.
Adjust the stacking mechanism on the press according to paper dimensions.
Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, carts, and trays.
Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated areas, using a hand truck, electric dolly, or other devices.
Counts, weighs and records the number of units of materials moved or handled on the daily production sheet.
Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers.
Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together, using a banding machine and clincher.
Uses automated equipment and operates an industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
Assists in inventory control of raw materials finished goods and dies.
Performs general cleaning of the manufacturing floor, keeps manufacturing area clear of obstructions, etc.

Requirements:
At least six months of prior warehouse experience.
Proficiency in operating/using material handling/warehouse equipment (shrink-wrap and strapping equipment, powered lift equipment, pallet jacks, manual dollies, etc.).
Ability to lift 40 pounds.
