We have an exciting opportunity for an experience Dispatch Supervisor to lead a team of Dispatch Agents responsible for driving performance, on P&D, drayage, line-haul and airport sweeps. This position will be based at our Chicago, IL location.
Key Responsibilities:
Organize, plan and resource day-to-day work priorities
Coaches and mentors and/or implements corrective actions for performance opportunities
Ensures training and supervision is provided to new employees. Assigns trained personnel to assist with training of new employees. Ensures dispatch office policy and SOP procedure manual is updated.
Ensure pick-up/delivery requests are dispatched promptly and professionally to drivers/vendors
Ensure timely entry of POD and other timestamps related to pick up/delivery information
Manage the volume of calls to drivers and/or problems with routes, and adjust or advise Operations where appropriate
Continuously monitor vendor performance and develops improvement plan when needed
Monitor transportation costs and target areas that yield improvements and cost savings
Proactively manage customer expectations

Skills / Qualifications:
Minimum 2-3 years of transportation experience in dispatch and/or operations supervision
Extensive knowledge Freight Forwarding operations
Strong negotiation and administrative skills
Results driven and attention to detail
Collective Bargaining Unit experience preferred
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
