About the Position
A great opportunity for occupational therapists looking to advance their careers. This position assists the System Director with the oversight of daily operations of the Occupational Therapy service line within the Department of Rehabilitation Services. The manager will increase access to outpatient services at all Rehab locations within the Cook County Health system, while overseeing delivery of inpatient care and providing direct patient care as needed. CCH hospitals and ambulatory health centers include a Level 1 Trauma Center, Burn Center, Primary Stroke Center, and other specialty clinics. This position is also responsible for supervising the front-line Occupational Therapy staff in both the inpatient and outpatient patient care areas across all locations. Common conditions include traumatic injuries, chronic/overuse conditions, post-operative rehabilitation, burn injuries, and neurological impairment affecting daily functional activities. Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Director of Rehabilitation Services, is responsible for the clinical coordination of Occupational Therapy Services. Manages daily operations, coordinates patient care and staffing assignments among Occupational Therapy (OT) divisions and works in collaboration with the other Department Managers. Monitors and ensures service quality, efficiency and effectiveness
General Administrative Responsibilities
Collective Bargaining
Review applicable Collective Bargaining Agreements and consult with Labor Relations to generate management proposals
Participate in collective bargaining negotiations, caucus discussions and working meetings
Discipline
Document, recommend and effectuate discipline at all levels
Work closely with labor relations and/or labor counsel to effectuate and enforce applicable Collective Bargaining Agreements
Initiate, authorize and complete disciplinary action pursuant to CCH system rules, policies, procedures and provision of applicable collective bargaining agreements
Supervision
Direct and effectuate CCH management policies and practices
Access and proficiently navigate CCH records system to obtain and review information necessary to execute provisions of applicable collective bargaining agreements
Management
Contribute to the management of CCH staff and CCH' systemic development and success
Discuss and develop CCH system policy and procedure
Consistently use independent judgment to identify operational staffing issues and needs and perform the following functions as necessary; hire, transfer, suspend, layoff, recall, promote, discharge, assign, direct or discipline employees pursuant to applicable Collective Bargaining Agreements
Work with Labor Relations to discern past practice when necessary


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited college or university (Must provide official transcripts at time of interview)
