The HR Service Center Specialist 1 supports and helps achieve strategic Human Resources initiatives. The position will have an emphasis on pre-employment procedures, employee records, reporting, and compliance relative to human resources functions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

QUALIFICATIONS:
* Oversees and leads the pre-employment process and procedures.
* Ensures excellent customer service is provided to employees via phone, chat and email
* Initiates and follows-up on required pre-employment screenings such as drug testing, post offer physicals and OSHA requirements.
* Ensures compliance on I-9 documents along with legal name change processes and new employee folders.
* Assists with HRIS data updates of personnel and payroll actions and research HRIS discrepancies.
* Ensures compliance with established Air-Evac Policies and procedures and departmental management objectives.
* Files and maintains employee records in accordance with departmental policy.
* Works on special projects and performs other job-related duties as needed.
* Assists HR department in carrying out various human resources programs and procedures for all employees to include new employee orientation, safety meetings, and management training.
Responds to and resolves difficult and sensitive inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
* Focus on continual process improvement opportunities; evaluates and revises AEL internal processes to reduce costs and increase efficiencies.
* Maintains current SOPs of job duties.
* Maintains current knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed federal laws/regulations such as FMLA, ADA, Workers' Compensation and USERRA laws.
Education/Licensing/Certification:
High School diploma should be required and Bachelors Degree preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Proficient in MS Office Suite.

Knowledge of principles and practices of Human Resources.
Experience:

2-4 years' experience in Human Resources.
Knowledge and Skills:

MS Office Suite experience and a typing a minimum of 40 WPM.
