Job Description

Role Description: Working out of our Ardagh Technical Center (ATC), the Service Technician is responsible for custom machine building, debug, inspection, and repair of high-speed automation equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assembly of new and the of rebuild old machines at Ardagh Technical Center and 8 production facilities throughout the US.
  • Build and troubleshoot automated assembly machines, sub-assembly components from engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Disassembly machine components, evaluate the condition for wear and damage, reassembly back using new or reconditioned parts.
  • Assemble small machine subassemblies or machine tooling for spare part program.
  • Read schematics, prints and exploded views of machinery and equipment to perform required service.
  • Interpret and follow procedural manuals, manufacturer's guides and operation instruction for can making equipment.
  • Test parts and subassemblies by using templates or using appropriate gauges and instruments.
  • Recommend process improvements for equipment design and assembly processes.
  • Operate assembly shop power tools and other equipment during machine build or overhauls.
  • Ability to work in a team environment during day and nights shift based on production schedule requirements.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • A minimum 2 years of mechanical assembly experience.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 30 %.
  • Must possess a valid passport/applicable visas and the ability to travel internationally as needed.
  • Must pass a Ramsay Mechanical Aptitude test.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work 8, 10, 12-hour shifts.
  • The ability to effectively communicate and meet deadlines
  • Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics.
