Email a Friend Save Save Apply Now Position Summary: The Maintenance Mechanic I / Courier is responsible for minor and preventative maintenance of all mechanical equipment and their associated systems at Carle facilities as well as performing and coordinating employee moves,assembly and repair of office furniture and installation of signs, shelving, etc. Performs courier tasks such as, driving and delivery of supplies and mail, transporting items to the clinics and main campus at Carle. Assists Maintenance Mechanic II and supervisor as directed. Qualifications: EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS None specified CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS Driver’s License. Must be insurable by Carle insurance agent. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Three (3) years experience in Facility Operations preferred. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Understands how a wide variety of mechanical and minor electrical components function. Familiar with the operation of complex machinery and the ability to function as a member of a team. Able to maintain plumbing equipment and associated systems. Needs to be open minded and willing to train on the job as required to perform daily operational tasks. Ability to understands building and clinic locations. Essential Functions:

+ Completes paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.

+ Performs preventative maintenance / repair of equipment.

+ Conducts mechanical, and to some degree electrical, preventative maintenance checks

+ Ensures that assigned vehicles are fueled, receipts turned in and vehicles and other equipment are clean and in good repair.

+ Relocates personnel, furniture and equipment.

+ Installs furniture, cabinetry and some medical equipment.

+ Moves furniture, equipment and records to and from warehouses.

+ Performs assigned preventative maintenance duties including fire extinguisher inspections

+ Assists in the coordination and execution of minor remodeling projects.

+ Coordinates courier vehicle maintenance.

+ Assists in transporting medical waste and lab specimens as needed per proper handling instructions.

+ Transports supplies, equipment, pharmaceuticals, bank deposits, and lab specimens to Carle and non-Carle facilities delivering them in a timely manner.
