About the Team

This role will be supporting the Distributed Database Services (DDS) Group within Technology and Operations Services. DDS supports business lines across the entire U.S. Bank enterprise and ensures that their database requirements are met in a reliable and predictable manner.

What you will do

+ Develop multi-platform converged enterprise engineering solutions targeted to meet existing, enhanced, and new platform solutions for business and infrastructure services.

+ Lead, direct, or recommend cross-functional team targeted for system enhancements for system performance, reliability, scalability, and capacity.

+ Evaluate product and service solutions.

+ Administer databases in an Operational capacity.

+ Maintain database patching levels on a quarterly basis.

+ Security administration of users, profiles, roles, and privileged access.

+ Create and maintain shell and/or other scripts for Linux.

+ Partner with the application teams, providing consultancy and guidance on best practices.

+ Conduct investigations into root cause analysis post incidents.

+ Documenting and maintaining database architecture, processes and procedures.

+ Mentor other team members in areas of technical expertise

Basic Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience

+ At least 7 years of experience within a total information technology (IT) environment

+ At least 7 years of experience with the design, development and support of technology infrastructure

Preferred Skills/Experience

+ Hands on Oracle Database administration and engineering experience .

+ Proven experience in deploying and managing cloud-hosted databases on AWS and/or Azure. (Administering databases in an Operational capacity.)

+ Experience writing and modifying database objects via SQL, PL/SQL, shell and/or other scripts for Linux.

+ Experience supporting Exadata (HCC, networking and Patching via Platinum Gateway Services).

+ Proficient in backup and recovery techniques via RMAN and flashback technologies including reporting and validation.

+ High availability & disaster recovery using Data Guard and Oracle RAC.

+ Technical troubleshooting, performance tuning and query optimization (AWR, ASH, v$ views, wait events, etc.).

+ Experience with storage solutions using ASM and capacity planning .

+ Experience with database monitoring/alerting solutions using OEM, AppDynamics, Splunk and like solutions.

+ Experience with software installation and support – Installation of Oracle binaries, upgrades, and patching.

+ Experience with Data migration and replication techniques – RMAN, Export & Import, Goldengate, Data Guard.

+ I mplementing network and at-rest Encryption (via TDE).

+ Experience in Security administration of users, profiles, roles, and privileged access.

+ Familiarity with Atlassian (Jira, Confluence) and other DevOps tools.

+ Automation experience – Ansible/Terraform/Salt/Gitlab

+ Experienced in ITSM standards, procedures and polices related to change, incident and problem management.

+ Strong understanding of broader technology context (e.g. Linux OS, network, storage) .

+ Experience of 24/7, highly available, environments.

+ Demonstrated maturity and resilience in resolving people, process, and project issues.

+ Ability to communicate complex technical information to less technical staff.

+ Desirable tech stack - Cohesity or equivalent , Oracle Compression , Shareplex , Multitenant , Cyberark.

The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there’s an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $108,375.00 – $127,500.00 – $140,250.00
