Clinical Trials Operations Development Program (CTODP) Overview

Clinical Trials are required before a new compound can be available for use by patients. A clinical study in human volunteers is conducted to answer specific health questions: Is it safe? Does it work? Is it better than what is currently offered to patients? At AbbVie, the Development Operations group conducts/manages clinical trials and provides therapeutically aligned, scientific strategy and operations management for the planning, execution and reporting of clinical development programs to enable successful global registration and commercialization of drug development projects. AbbVie’s Data and Statistical Sciences (DSS) is also a key player in this work, ensuring clinical data of the highest quality and fit-for-purpose analytics and analyses to support the progress of AbbVie’s development pipeline.

Program Description

As a member of AbbVie’s Clinical Trial Operations Development Program (CTODP), you will participate in two 12-month rotational assignments over the course of two years. The rotations offer global exposure to Development Operations and Data & Statistical Sciences leadership and are crafted to help members hone exceptional functional and leadership traits. Members will develop expertise, skills, and relationships essential for accelerated career progression within the Global Therapeutics organization at AbbVie.

Diverse and meaningful rotational assignments have been hosted in the following areas:

+ Clinical Study Leadership

+ Data & Statistical Sciences

+ Diversity & Patient Inclusion

+ Patient Recruitment & Retention

+ Study Start-up

+ Study Feasibility

Please note that participation in this program requires relocation to AbbVie’s corporate headquarters in north suburban Chicago.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

+ Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with an emphasis on Science

+ Expected graduation date between December 2024 – June 2025

+ Must be willing to relocate to AbbVie’s corporate headquarters in north suburban Chicago

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Proven track record of teamwork, adaptability, innovation, and integrity

+ Excellent communication, leadership, project management skills, problem solving, analytical skills, and business mindset

+ Microsoft Excel or other database experience is a plus

Note that this is not a lab position. These roles supporting our clinical research are operational in nature. This is not a track or feeder opportunity for medical students (MD or PhD/Postdoctoral routes).
