Amazon Freight is a fast-growing startup at Amazon and we are looking for passionate owners to shape the direction of the business. Amazon Freight blends advanced technology with a network of 50,000+ Amazon trailers, building on the world class network and freight services currently used to operate Amazon’s own freight movements. We are looking for complex problem solvers who are able to build teams and manage relationships with senior leaders at Fortune 500 companies to externalize these transportation capabilities as a service.

As a Sr. Manager, you are accountable for the largest, most complex business initiatives that have broad customer, organizational, and cross-functional impact. You will build and lead a team to influence and unlock new partnership and growth opportunities within a defined set of accounts, working closely with business development, product, and execution teams.

Key job responsibilities

- Be viewed as a subject matter expert in your domain, leveraging data, metrics, and qualitative insights to drive strategic decision-making.

- Lead a team responsible for identifying, developing, and closing significant business opportunities.

- Leverage your strong internal network and influence to unlock new partnership and growth opportunities for the broader company.

- Operate with a high degree of autonomy, often in areas where the business strategy has yet to be defined. You will be trusted to drive progress on ambiguous, complex problems.

- Effectively partner with senior leadership up to the SVP level, representing key decisions, trade-offs, and recommended solutions in a clear and compelling manner, both verbally and in writing.

- Act as the owner of long-term strategic planning documents. You will influence organizational priorities, system roadmaps, and technology direction.

- Continuously identify and propose high-impact business opportunities, making a strong case for investment or divestment over a 3-5 year horizon.

- Serve as a single-threaded owner for multiple Director-level and above goals, tracking progress and owning reporting on the status of your programs.

- Provide hands-on mentorship and development for your team

Basic Qualifications

- 7+ years of building and leading large teams and working in matrixed operating structures experience

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

- Experience working and communicating with multiple stakeholders, C-level executives and cross functional teams or equivalent

- Experience in strategic thinking about business, enterprise software products, and new technology platforms and architectures or equivalent

- 5+ years in transportation industry experience

Preferred Qualifications

- 5+ years of 3PL or brokerage experience
