Key Responsibilities:

Leads a continuous audit and surveillance program, assuring that the United Tech Services Division follows company regulations and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations. Provides leadership and direction to assigned auditor staff responsible for the evaluation, qualification, and compliance of both internal and external Part 145 repair operations as well as compliances to UA GMM governed business processes and management systems.

+ Leads Tech Ops Offwing Quality Assurance program responsible for continuous surveillance and regulatory compliance by completing audits and certifying quality systems of vendors that provide maintenance services to United Airlines

+ Leads the Tech Ops Internal Audit program responsible for monitoring and ensuring compliance to UA GMM by completing system and process audits of internal systems and controls supporting the safe operation of the fleet

+ Leads the Tech Ops Aircraft Appearance Audit program responsible for monitoring and reporting the condition of exterior and interior appearances of the aircraft including regional partners as needed

+ Responsible for setting direction and providing guidance for team of auditors in meeting the highest standards of all work responsibilities, assignments, and professional development

+ Leads the investigation of potential non-compliance discrepancies related to operational issues, reports areas requiring corrective action to responsible management, and assures appropriate corrective measures are implemented and effectively maintained

+ Continuous analysis of operational and compliance risk assessments/trends from Quality Assurance programs

+ Responsible for providing timely updates on audit & investigation finding to leadership as required

+ Functions as a primary liaison on behalf of UA for industry audit organizations (such as C.A.S.E.) and ensures industry requirements are met

+ Integrates SMS principles into surveillance activities including identification of hazards of high safety and regulatory compliance risks

+ Acts as an internal consultant regarding quality assurance standards and on issues of regulatory compliance within Tech Services and across divisions as appropriate

+ Coordinates preparation and on-site support for internal and external audits (IEP, IOSA, DOD, etc.) of Technical Operations

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

+ Bachelor’s degree in aviation-related field

+ Eight years aircraft maintenance, inspection and/or related engineering experience

+ Expert knowledge of the Code of Federal Regulations, UA policies and procedures

+ Shown superior interpersonal skills, writing skills, critical thinking, and leadership skills

+ The highest standard of ethics and integrity to compliance adherence

+ Between 30% – 50% domestic and international travel; Requires a valid passport

+ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

+ Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

+ Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

+ Master’s degree

+ FAA commercial pilot, Airframe, Powerplant, and other certificates, as applicable

+ C.A.S.E. audit certification

+ Prior experience in managerial positions, applicable quality systems and other industry certifications in quality will be a plus

+ Air Carrier Internal Audit experience

+ Air Carrier External (vendor) Audit experience

+ High collaboration, teaming, and employee engagement skills
