About you and this role -What you would do in this role

As a member of the Manufacturing organization, you contribute to the growth for site and business. Operates the production equipment such as the reactor, mixer, filter, packaging equipment, and pumps to produce the products. Maintain the safe operation aligned with Dow’s safety policies.

Responsibilities- Duties, projects, tasks, and activities you would be responsible for in this role.

+ Training in the various operations process.

+ Operation of batch reactors, repacks and packaging.

+ Handling of hazardous and non-hazardous materials and waste.

+ Filtering and screening.

+ Loading and blending of wet or dry materials.

+ Grinding.

+ Pumping.

+ Cleaning reactor and kettles.

+ Unload Bulk Tank Trucks.

+ Drumming of finished liquid product in to totes, 55 gal. drums, 5 gal. pails, and various size bottles and cans.

+ Packaging and palletizing solid products in bags and/or drums ranging in size from 50 lbs. to 1600 lbs.

+ Performing general housekeeping duties.

+ Hand and Fork Lift truck operation.

+ Sampling of raw materials and/or finished good.

+ Run in process sample as needed and final/drumming sample.

+ Perform bulk and pack out confirmations in SAP computer system.

+ Perform all work safely and injury-free.

+ Actively participate in improving department and plant safety performance.

+ Attend and participate in EGV Plant Programs/Committees/Training as required, such as Department.

+ Safety, Central Safety, Behavioral Safety, Ringwood Safety Journey, House keeping Audit Teams, ISD, etc.

+ Issue safe work permits.

+ Be the Job representative/Facility Rep on RTM’s and build RTM’s.

+ Use RTO to proper return equipment to operations.

+ Follow the Procedure Use Policy.

+ Use various computer programs including SAP/NEA, Logbook, and WebEDMS.

+ Comply with Dow Document Management System.

+ Develop, Review and Own Procedures.

+ Use Management of Change (MOC) tool when implementing any changes or for acknowledging /reviewing changes.

+ Respect and Follow Life Critical Standards.

+ Participate on Root Cause Investigations (RCI’s/5Why’s).

+ Participate on plant wide teams from MI Plan.

+ Participate on goal setting process.

+ Use TOR for morning meeting/toolbox.

+ Write Work Orders.

+ Participate on Projects (Kaizen and Engineering).

+ Train new hire or co-work on a new process.

Qualifications – Required education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities that are needed for this role (must haves).

+ A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.

+ Able to work an 8-hour rotating shift Monday through Friday and be available for overtime as needed, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

+ At least 6 months of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

+ Able to read, write, and speak English.

+ Current, valid US driver’s license.

+ A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Skills -An expanded list of qualifications that are “nice to have”, but not essential

+ Associate’s degree or higher in relevant field.

+ Experience in the operation and minor maintenance of machinery.

+ Prior experience with SAP.

+ Experience operating a fork truck.

Physical Requirements:

Able to meet the following physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations:

+ Lift, push, and pull up to 55 lbs.

+ Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.

+ Stand 50% of the time.

+ Walk for extended periods of time.

+ Work at heights, climb stairs and ladders.

+ Work in tight and closed in spaces.

+ Wear all required personal protective equipment, including but not limited to respirator, earplugs, goggles, and steel-toed shoes.

+ Work in an area of intense or continuous noise.

+ Work in an area with hazardous materials.

+ Have sufficient dexterity and strength to operate process equipment, turn valves, etc.

+ Able to tolerate periodic hot, inside working conditions or cold outside conditions.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel.
