Job Description
We are looking for a Cloud Data Platform Support Analyst for a fully remote , long-term contract opportunity. The ideal candidate will build and support Azure Data factory pipelines, ETL’, and data ingestions.
What You’ll Do
+ Build and support Azure Data factory pipelines
+ Build and support ETLs via Azure DataBricks notebooks
+ Build and Support Data Ingestions into Azure Data Lake gen2
+ Code promotion and release creation using Devops
+ 24/7 Data Platform operations support
What You’ll Need
Required:
+ Strong experience in working with Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases (database design, table and view creation, database/SQL query performance tuning, etc.)
+ Strong understanding of Azure Data Lake (design, debugging, performance tuning, and integrations with other data warehouses and operational stores)
+ Experience with Data factory, Databricks, and Spark for ETL processing
+ Experience in working with Snowflake or other cloud-based data warehouses
+ Strong experience with PowerBI Developer / Report Designer
+ Strong understanding of general ETL processes and data model / data structure
+ Solid understanding of application ecosystems (i.e. infrastructure components where the application interacts)
+ Strong verbal and written communications
+ Strong analytical and problem solving aptitude
+ Focused on customer service and the ability to interact with all lines of business at PPL
+ Ability to analyze and resolve issues with production applications in accordance with engagement SLAs
+ Experience working in a 24×7 operational support rotation
+ Produce output that meets acceptable standards for quality, accuracy, and thoroughness
+ Willingness to support some older legacy code to keep application running in changing environments
Preferred:
+ Familiarity with service oriented architecture (WebMethods or other)
+ Familiarity with FTP tools such as FileZilla
+ Experience working with job scheduling and batch automation tools such as Automic
Physical Demands
+ Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards
+ Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
+ Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard and monitor
