Job Description Summary:

The Director, Software Engineering, will play a pivotal role in establishing the vision for our one of products organization. The Director will enable outstanding performance of the team and build structures/systems to ensure our success is repeatable, consistent, and scalable. The Director will have a passion for working with technical teams globally to deliver complex enterprise products, working with customers, and fostering a collaborative, results-orientated, and sustainable team culture.

The individual in the role will have a demonstrated track record of successfully building and delivering technology solutions using agile principles and practices globally. The Director will be an inspirational leader capable of hiring, developing and motivating talent with strong technical and teamwork skills world-wide.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

+ Lead a geographically distributed software engineering organization including engineers in the US and Australia.

+ Establish a culture of rapid innovation based on modern engineering constructs and practices.

+ Implement team-wide standards and practices for engineering and development excellence, with a focus on quality, predictability, repeatability, and scalability.

+ Collaborate with key stakeholders to deliver on time and with high quality.

+ Recruit, onboard, develop, mentor, and retain high-performing and diverse talent

+ Work directly with Rocket clients to demonstrate Rockets core values of Empathy, Humanity, Trust and Love.

Required Qualifications:

+ 8+ years of software engineering leadership experience.

+ Experience working in fast-paced technical environments to promote agile principles and mind-set across the organization.

+ Experience leading a geographically distributed software engineering organization.

+ Experience building strong partnerships with other job functions to keep teams collaborating smoothly and working together to improve the product.

+ Proven track record of synthesizing multiple internal and external sources of input into product requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Strong technical skills with an understanding of different technologies, architecture patterns and design principles.

+ Solid understanding of modern software engineering practices and iterative development approaches with an emphasis on Agile.

+ Inclusive leadership style that empowers and enables individuals and teams.

+ Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills and ability to lead by influence rather than strictly authority.

+ Excellent coaching skills and comfortable with ‘doing and showing’ recommended practices.

The base salary range for this role is $164,000.00 – $205,100.00 /year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
