Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

  • Must meet the expectations of the laboratory skills and policies related to the Screening job functions
  • Locate, read and accurately follow SOP's and laboratory safety policies related to job function, Theories of Immunoassay and Solid Phase/Liquid-Liquid Extraction
  • Maintain the laboratory as a clean, organized and safe environment
  • Maintain security of specimens, aliquots, sample vials, QC materials, Certified Negative Specimen, and storage areas
  • Maintain inventory of laboratory consumables
  • Identify and troubleshoot problems/instrument errors and perform corrective actions; notify supervisors and document incidents/corrective actions taken
  • Identify and solve problems and perform corrective action; notify supervisors and document incidents
  • Keep up-to-date technologies/knowledge/toxicology trends and apply it to their job function.
  • Attend continuing education courses and complete training modules.
  • Read recent peer-reviewed journal articles sent by the laboratory
  • Lead or train the new employees in screening areas.
  • Performs initial screening testing by ELISA and EIA
  • Prepares specimens for LDTD initial testing
  • Performs routine maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Reviews data and initiates reanalysis as needed.
  • NOT authorized to generate or certify results, unless additional training requirements are met.

Schedule will be Tuesday through Sunday 4:00pm to 12:30am

Requirements:
  • BS/BA degree majoring in one of the chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory/medical technology sciences ( 16 semester hours of chemistry, which included at least 6 semester hours in inorganic/general chemistry; and 16 semester hours of biology courses). 3 semester hours of mathematics; and in-house laboratory training.
