Job Summary
Responsible for leading, overseeing, and aligning the operational aspects of the R&D Department to ensure efficient and effective execution of projects and initiatives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align operational strategies and business objectives. Implement best practices, oversee project management, and ensure compliance with standards while driving continuous improvement to maximize productivity.
Responsibilities
Strategic Planning:
Develop and implement strategic plans to drive innovation and achieve R&D objectives in alignment with company goals and customer needs
Identify opportunities for growth and improvement within the R&D operations function
Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to inform strategic decision-making
Project Management:
Oversee project management processes, including planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting
Ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to quality standards
Identify and mitigate risks to project success, escalating issues as needed
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work with internally to align R&D activities with business priorities and customer needs
Collaborate with teams on R&D business metrics, focusing on productivity analysis and margin and cost programs
Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment and subsequent buy-in for R&D initiatives
Act as the knowledge expert for R&D, maintaining and improving all R&D-related information
Implement processes and procedures to support compliance and quality assurance efforts, process improvement, trials, and R&D initiatives
Lead and manage the R&D team, providing guidance, direction, and support to ensure optimal performance

Qualifications
Skills and Certifications
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
Effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis
Excellent leadership, time management, attention to detail, verbal and written communication skills, listening, decision-making, and organization skills
Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel skills
Demonstrated people-development skills, including coaching, team-building, and training skills
Bachelor's degree with a business emphasis or related discipline with 10+ years of related experience in leading/guiding an R&D team/function or similar leadership role
Additional Information
Thenational pay range for this role is $129,900.00 - $265,100.00. The payrange may beslightly lower or higher based on the geographic location of the hired employee. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
