Job Description

About the Position

The Personal Services Contract (PSC) will be involved in implementing the Broadband Equity Access and Deployment Program and Digital Equity Act, two major broadband and digital inclusion policy programs. They may also be involved in implementing the Dig Once statute. The PSC may have access to confidential information from internet service providers submitted during the BEAD sub-grantee process. Such information may include service maps and connectivity methodology. The PSC may have contact with such stakeholders in the following instances: 

 


  • The PSC may support the creation of presentations and research for the Interagency Broadband Working Group, which includes several state agencies who are involved in or impacted by broadband deployment.

  • The PSC may support policy research to inform the development of state broadband policies, such as the Dig Once statute.

  • The PSC may interact with the general public through attending and supporting stakeholder engagement events, which are required for program implementation to spread awareness of sub-grantee opportunities. Illinois is required by NTIA to ensure equitable awareness and participation in BEAD and Digital Equity grant programs, so this work is often public-facing.
Job Responsibilities
  1. Create Microsoft PowerPoint presentations and write policy memos distilling broadband and digital equity policies, programs, and practices into a format accessible for a variety of audiences.
