Job Title:  Maintenance Planner Department: Manufacturing

Functions/Responsibilities:

The Planner is responsible for the effective execution of all maintenance work processes in the Northlake and Kankakee manufacturing locations. The position is responsible to the EH&S and Facilities Manager for the efficient and effective planning and scheduling of all resources (company and contractors) to conduct maintenance activities which results in a minimum downtime and maximum productivity. The Planner must utilize his/her scheduling skills to manage work priority, develop job plans, define parts/material requirements, and define skill sets required to develop a safe and effective maintenance work plan. The planner also provides equipment related expertise and technical knowledge to improve preventative maintenance activities.

The Maintenance Planner Scheduler will support all policies, goals and objectives of the company, and will represent the company in a knowledgeable and professional manner.
Ensure maintenance activities meet or exceed EH&S corporate objectives. Adhere to the principles of Process Safety Management, with the Regional EH&S and Facilities Manager, at the sites.
Drive standardization and rationalization for optimum efficiency and cohesive, standardized methodology across plants.
Principle contact and liaison between the maintenance department and production/project planning. They ensure all internal customers in which they interact will receive professional maintenance service in a timely manner to provide high equipment availability and performance.
Use SAP-PM to develop a daily work schedule to secure adequate resources to complete preventative, predictive, and planned maintenance. Audit assignments and resources to ensure repair schedules and performance expectations are met. This includes maintenance staff, materials, documents, work orders, change orders, and necessary approvals to perform work as planned.
Responsible to maintain all records in SAP-PM for plant equipment and maintenance work history including planned and unplanned work scheduled through SAP-PM. Such records includes all labor hours, materials, and necessary notes or procedural changes associated with the work.
Reviews work to be performed to devise a clear, concise scope and determines the best way to accomplish the work.
Prepare and maintain a daily/weekly maintenance schedule providing the necessary maintenance resources and recordkeeping required to track productivity, improve work efficiencies and increase plant performance.
Actively participate in scheduling meetings with operation partners to finalize priority of work orders, optimum downtime windows, and necessary lead times.
They will consult routinely with the originator, production coordinator, maintenance/production supervisors, and process/project engineering as necessary.
Continuously improve the job estimate, planning and scheduling process by seeking feedback from maintenance supervisors, mechanics, production supervisors/coordinator, engineers and production planner.
Ensure infrastructure needs are reported, with follow-up communications to action item closure with Facilities Manager and Maintenance Supervisor. Implement corrective action to reduce operator/equipment "avoidable" issues.
Communicate daily with operations and maintenance to be aware of engineering projects.
Provide input to management with reports, metrics, and other tracking tools will allow to drive continuous improvement activities..
Identifies work requiring engineering input/design and arranges for review with engineering/production team members.
