Position Highlights:
Position: RN Auditor
Location: Skokie, IL
Part Time (20 hours weekly)
Hours: Monday-Friday, standard business hours

What you will do:
Audit medical record for appropriateness of level charge and procedure capture.
Obtain missing documentation/reports from appropriate departments.
Negotiate discrepancies with Emergency Department.
Adjust the account based on outcome of audit
Conducts comprehensive retrospective documentation audits for the Emergency Department charge audits: Analyzes progress notes, encounter forms, health information documents for billing accuracy
Queries billing system (e.g. monthly data dump) to identify non-statistical sample of facility charges and generates a report. Utilizes the report to re-educate staff for compliance for accurate charge capture
Researches billing questions received from the Business office and provides verbal or written response as appropriate. Maintains filing system of all questions received and answers provided to caller.
Performs follow-up one-on-one Charging billing in EPIC for charge entry personnel as needed.
Participates in Billing Compliance in-services for charge entry personnel as assigned
Notifies charge entry personnel of appropriate charges to enter into billing system. Writes compliance summary reports utilized for provider for staff education

What you will need:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing, required
License: State of Illinois RN license, required
Experience: Hospital nursing experience, 3-5 years preferred
