Remuneration: Exempt
The VP, Business Strategy will lead the Business Strategy team, part of the broader Strategy department, and play a critical role in shaping the direction and growth of the company. This team leads and consolidates the annual strategy review, coordinates the implementation of strategic initiatives in collaboration with the business, and leads special initiatives on behalf of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT). Moreover, the team assesses the impacts and opportunities from cutting-edge innovations, in close collaboration with the relevant business units.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the Business Strategy team, ensuring alignment with the company's long-term goals and objectives
Drive the overall Strategy Review process, ensuring comprehensive analysis and actionable recommendations across all business units
Set strategic priorities and oversee the implementation of key initiatives in collaboration with executive leadership and business units
Lead and manage the execution of large-scale strategic initiatives and special projects on behalf of the ELT, including mergers, acquisitions, and organizational transformations
Monitor and report on the company's strategic performance, providing insights and recommendations to the board and executive leadership
Champion the integration of cutting-edge innovations and emerging trends into the company's strategic roadmap
Establish and maintain high-level strategic partnerships with external stakeholders, including venture capital firms, research institutions, and industry leaders
Develop and mentor senior leaders within the Business Strategy team, fostering a high-performing culture
Qualifications:
Master's or advanced degree in STEM, business, or other relevant fields, preferred
Minimum 15 years of relevant professional experience in the power industry, across strategy, management consulting, or relevant business roles
Extensive expertise in corporate strategy, clean energy, and utility industry, US power markets/transmission grid, renewable project development /commercialization, and clean energy technologies
Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of driving business direction and growth
Exemplary communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging and influencing board-level stakeholders and executive leadership
Proven experience in managing and executing large-scale, transformative strategic initiatives and special projects
High standards of quality and excellence, with the ability to balance visionary strategy with practical implementation
Visionary and innovative, consistently leading the charge in challenging the status quo and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
Exceptional leadership and team development skills, building and nurturing high-performing teams, and establishing strong, strategic partnerships with external stakeholders. Adaptable, self-reflective, and committed to personal and team growth
