Staff Accountant
Summary Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Review financial statements for accuracy and legal compliance
Prepare and file tax returns
Enter accounting related information into business systems
Inspect account books for efficiency and accuracy
Organize and update financial records
Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue
Perform monthly bank reconciliations
Prepare documentation for external auditors
Processes accounts payable Includes matching of invoices with purchase orders and receipts. Investigates and resolves all discrepancies.
Prepares intercompany wire transfers.
Prepares account reconciliations as assigned.
Provides backup for payroll and weekly check run.
Updates monthly budget performance report and analysis.
Assists with quarterly and semi-annual business plan preparations.
Assists with the implementation of system controls for new financial systems and procedures to improve existing processes.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university with a minimum of two years related experience.

Knowledge of Accounting software; Database software; Internet software; Inventory software; Order processing systems; Payroll systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

JDE and ADP experience are a plus.

Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

Ability to read and analyze financial reports

Strong understanding of US tax regulations

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Work Environment
Most work is done an office environment.
At times may enter the manufacturing plant and may be exposed to moving mechanical parts; hazards common to industrial settings; chemicals, vibration, and loud noises.
Proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including Bump caps, steel toe safety shoes, Hearing protection, safety glasses and gloves, is provided and required in the plant.
