The Fermilab Particle Physics Directorate seeks a highly motivated Electronics Technician II to join its Electrical Engineering Department. The selected candidate will contribute to the development and operation of experimental detectors for neutrino physics research. Under direct or general supervision, provides technical support for cryogenic control and infrastructure systems for neutrino detectors. In addition, the selected candidate will fabricate, assemble, install, and troubleshoot electronics and electrical systems using drawings, diagrams, and schematics.

You Will:
Work in a collaborative environment of people with a wide variety of backgrounds, experience, and ideas.
Read and understand assembly drawings and electrical/electronic schematics.
Provide installation and troubleshooting support of experiment's electrical infrastructure, including detector grounding schemes, building and detector power distribution, and electronics equipment rack protection systems.
Assemble electronics chassis, racks, and cabinet panels containing a variety of electronics and DIN-mountable equipment, including power supplies, custom designed or commercial electronics, and PLCs.
Repair or modify electronics PC boards.
Assemble and test a variety of cable assemblies including NEMA, IDC, BNC, and SHV connectorization.
Procures and maintains inventories of lab equipment.
Writes procedures for all finished work. Enters relevant work information into documentation notes or log book.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Abide by and is responsible for performing all duties in accordance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, Laboratory policies, procedures and practices pertinent to this position.

We Are Looking For:
High School Diploma (or technical certificate or equivalent) plus 3+ years of extensive related experience or up to 1 year of DOE laboratory experience.
Experience drawing electrical schematics (any electrical or CAD software)
Experience using standard electronics troubleshooting tools; DMM, oscilloscope
Soldering and cable termination skills
Facility in use of basic shop tools; drill press, grinder, sander, horizontal/vertical band saw
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work within a team atmosphere

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proficient working in a Windows PC environment; Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and Web based tools.
Required to legally operate a government vehicle
