Job Description:

We are looking for a Director of Finance for the CosMc’s team. The objectives for this phase of the project are to run and evaluate the success of 10 pilot stores of the new concept, which is of high strategic priority to Global Leadership and the broader McDonald’s organization. This role will perform and be responsible for all financial reporting and planning activities for the pilot stores, including owning creation of pro forma P&Ls, strategic financial analysis, and long-term financial modeling.

The ideal candidate will be a strong performer, with experience interacting across multiple disciplines and directly with Company leadership. This candidate will also have an entrepreneurial mindset, comfort with ambiguity and agile ways of working, and openness to evolving their own role and responsibilities as we continue to ensure our pilot team’s Finance function is fit for purpose as our concept quickly grows.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Own pro forma P&Ls and related financial modeling for pilot sites and/or expansion strategy (i.e., staying connected with various functional teams and updating financial expectations accordingly)

+ G&A Budget management – liaison with McDonald’s corporate Finance, tracking budget and spend

+ Support CosMc’s business decisions and strategy using competitor intel and market analysis

+ Set economic policy for pilot and expansion scenarios

+ Analyze actual financial results CosMc’s(e.g., review of weekly/monthly performance vs. forecast, updating financials coming out of the pilot, etc.) – strong restaurant P&L management

+ Assist with core accounting and reporting for pilot and/or expansion sites (e.g., invoice payments, payroll, service agreements, etc.)

+ Lead menu pricing strategy for CosMc’s, including analysis of gross margin, competitor pricing and overall value proposition

+ Provide cross-functional leadership across the new business ventures team

+ Support other fields with reviewing/setting any financial terms (e.g., franchising, supply chain contracts, wage/benefits analyses, etc.)

+ Own the creation of presentations to senior leadership

+ Perform project work as determined by leadership

Qualifications:

+ Experience in fields related to finance or accounting, ideally with exposure to Restaurant Development, Restaurant Operations, and Economic Policy teams

+ Experience in real estate/development financial analysis is preferred

+ Experience with new store development; analyzing overall profitability, rent setting, profit impact

+ Experience with pricing strategy preferred

+ Degree in Accountancy or Finance

+ Familiarity with finer details within P&L, such as food cost components, labor scheduling impacts, etc.

+ Strong ability to build insightful financial models coupled with the ability to teach others how to interpret the results

+ Ability to optimally scrutinize and challenge project assumptions; interpret strategies and priorities through a financial lens

+ Forward thinking and able to anticipate immediate and long-term implications of potential decisions; ability to identify dependencies across multiple initiatives

+ Must have flexibility for potential travel across U.S. geography
