Job Description

Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the manufacturing industry, based in Franklin Park, Illinois. The chosen candidate will be expected to contribute to the company’s financial planning, analysis, budgeting, and investment activities. This role involves ensuring the accuracy of the accounting system and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Responsibilities

- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close of accounts.

- Handle reconciliation tasks on all balance sheet accounts.

- Regularly maintain an inventory of fixed assets and inventory accounts.

- Implement internal control policies and procedures for all financial activities.

- Identify and address any accounting and finance employee training needs.

- Coordinate the company’s financial planning, financial analysis, budgeting, and investment activities.

- Maintain the accuracy of the accounting system.

- Ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

- Prepare weekly cash forecasting.

- Assist in the identification of financial risks and the development of risk management strategies. Requirements – Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations.

- Solid understanding and experience with General Ledger management and Journal Entries.

- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

- Experience in Month End Close operations.

- Proven abilities in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

- Expertise in Cost Accounting and Consolidations.

- Relevant experience in the manufacturing industry.

- Strong communication, collaboration, and team-building skills.

- Ability to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports.

- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.

- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

- detail oriented certification such as CPA is preferred.
