Job Description

Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Grant Accountant in Chicago, Illinois. This role is within the finance industry and will require the successful candidate to manage a variety of accounting functions related to grant management. The workplace is a dynamic environment where the Grant Accountant will play a key role in maintaining the financial health and transparency of our operations.

Responsibilities:

- Ensure accurate processing and recording of the organization’s financial transactions

- Utilize accounting software systems like Abila MIP and ADP – Financial Services for financial management and reporting

- Oversee auditing processes to ensure compliance with standards and regulations

- Manage budget processes, including planning, tracking, and reporting

- Conduct capital management duties and oversee cash activity for financial stability

- Interact with Bloomberg Terminal for financial data analysis and reporting

- Perform general accounting functions, including but not limited to: reconciliations, journal entries, and budget variance analyses

- Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met

- Liaise with other departments or partners to gather necessary information for financial reporting

- Assist with other accounting projects as needed. Requirements

- Proficient in the use of Abila MIP

- Familiarity with various Accounting Software Systems

- Experience with ADP – Financial Services

- Proficiency in using Bloomberg Terminal

- Demonstrated ability in performing Accounting Functions

- Experience in Auditing

- Familiarity with Budget Processes

- Understanding of Capital Management

- Experience in handling Cash Activity.
