Job Description

Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Technical Engineer in the Wholesale Distribution industry, located in Warrenville, Illinois, United States. The role encompasses the migration of two pre-existing FTP servers to a new Azure hosted platform and requires a deep understanding of enterprise infrastructure, FTP, and EDI/ETL.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee the migration of two pre-existing FTP servers to a new Azure hosted platform.

- Utilize Cisco, Citrix, and Cloud Technologies to facilitate the migration process.

- Ensure the maintenance and efficient operation of Solarwinds MFT and a classic Linux server, both hosted in Azure.

- Conduct Discovery and Planning phases for the migration project.

- Utilize knowledge of Database and EO/IR systems in the planning and implementation of the migration.

- Manage Active Directory and Apple Devices during the migration process.

- Use Backup Technologies to safeguard data during the migration.

- Oversee the entire FTP process, ensuring its smooth operation.

- Provide Migration Planning, ensuring all elements are properly transferred and no data is lost.

- Maintain hardware infrastructure, including Computer Hardware, during the migration process. Requirements – Holds a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. – Demonstrated experience with Cisco Technologies. – Familiarity with Citrix Technologies. – Proficient in Cloud Technologies. – Experience with Database management. – Knowledge of EO/IR systems. – Ability to work with Active Directory. – Experience with Apple Devices. – Familiarity with Backup Technologies. – Familiarity with FTP (File Transfer Protocol). – Experience in Migration Planning. – Excellent problem-solving skills. – Strong communication and interpersonal skills. – Ability to work independently and as part of a team. – Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. – Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. – Commitment to continuous detail oriented development and learning.
