Required Skills:

Network Engineer Responsibilities:

1. Define and develop optimized network monitoring, automation systems, and network architectures.

2. Participate in technical decisions to improve the network landscape.

3. Help create and improve both existing and future monitoring, alerting, and automated remediation systems.

4. Perform network configuration changes and optimizations across a multivendor, multiprotocol environment.

5. Work on performance measurement to ensure improved efficiency and process automation.

6. Build out datacenter and POP network footprint, including commissioning routers and switches into the network.

7. Turn up new backbone fiber optic capacity across the globe and implement security policy in secure environments.

8. Diagnose network problems, identify root causes, and carry out remediation solutions.

9. Scale Facebook’s global network to meet demands by building new infrastructure, implementing new architectures, and developing new operational procedures.

10. Build and configure network deployment strategies for datacenter network capacity augments as well new system migrations.

11. Provide subject-matter expertise regarding data center network planning, architecture and standards.

12. Demonstrate personal leadership.

13. Identifying and helping to create documentation for the global data center knowledge base.

14. Interface and align with all of our network and partner engineering teams such as Compute, Storage and Edge Network and act as point of contact for every new data center network project.

15. Shape solutions through early and active involvement in project and product life cycles.

16. Create deployment packages and standards to ensure global consistency and make solid network recommendations to best facilitate ongoing company technology projects.

17. Update and development of scripts and smaller sets of software.

18. Telecommuting is permitted from anywhere in the U.S.

Minimum Qualifications:

19. Requires a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field and 24 months of experience in job offered or computer-related occupation. Experience must include 24 months of experience in each of the following:

20. 1. Python or JavaScript

21. 2. Firewalls

22. 3. Content Filters

23. 4. Network Routing and Switching

24. 5. Leading strategic implementation and planning for risk and growth and

25. 6. Deploying and Troubleshooting LANs, VLANs, WLANs, VPNs, NAT Devices, and DHCP Servers.

Public Compensation:

$165,638/year to $186,120/year + bonus + equity + benefits
