Summary:

Meta seeks a highly motivated team player to serve as Lead Counsel, Global Trade Compliance. This position will play a key role advising on Meta’s sanctions, export, and import compliance programs, as well as providing legal support for our broader trade compliance initiatives. This is a full-time position and is a great opportunity to join a growing legal team and to work on novel issues in an exciting, fast-paced environment.

Required Skills:

Lead Counsel, Global Trade Compliance Responsibilities:

1. Counsel and advise on activities relating to U.S. and international sanctions regimes.

2. Assist in the design and implementation of company-wide compliance programs and initiatives, including compliance policies, processes, and training.

3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Meta FinTech Compliance, Trade Operations, Public Policy, Human Resources, Product, and Finance to coordinate compliance programs and initiatives.

4. Undertake special projects and support other compliance program initiatives.

5. Travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

6. J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one U.S. state bar.

7. 5+ years of attorney experience with U.S. and international sanctions laws and regulations at a law firm or in-house with a multinational corporation.

8. Presentation and communication experience.

9. Record of legal and business judgment and strategic thinking.

10. A mix of both law firm and in-house experience.

11. Experience handling export and import compliance issues.

12. Experience working with or in support of diverse communities.

Public Compensation:

$167,000/year to $233,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
