Job Description

Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Paralegal in Chicago, Illinois. The chosen candidate will operate in the Medical Malpractice industry, utilizing their skills to review and order medical records, liaise with experts, and assist with trial preparation. The role will also involve compiling records for depositions and coordinating with other team members to ensure smooth operations.

Responsibilities

- Conduct comprehensive review and ordering of medical records for case preparation

- Establish and maintain regular communication with experts for the preparation of their report

- Compile and organize medical records for use in depositions

- Contribute to trial preparation through detailed record keeping and information gathering

- Collaborate with other team members to schedule appointments and meetings

- Forward necessary materials to experts and team members as required for case progression

- Assist in the overall preparation of medical malpractice cases, ensuring all relevant information is readily available

- Maintain proper documentation of all activities and actions taken on a case

- Handle inquiries related to case materials and provide timely responses

- Ensure all activities adhere to legal and ethical standards. Requirements – Must possess a strong understanding of Medical Malpractice law

- Demonstrated experience in handling Medical Records

- Proficiency in Medical Records Review is necessary

- Should have prior experience in Trial Preparation

- Ability to assist in preparing for Depositions

- A degree in law or paralegal studies is required

- Excellent oral and written communication skills

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively

- Proficiency in using legal research software

- A strong understanding of legal terminologies and procedures

- Ability to maintain confidential information

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint

- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Strong work ethic and professional demeanor.
