ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, which are to be performed accurately, efficiently, within company safety and quality standards, and within required time frames as needed. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.

+ Create paperwork for international shipments; verify trade compliance for inbound and outbound international shipments

+ Make arrangements for pickup when customer specifies a non-standard carrier; schedule non-standard trailer delivery and pickup

+ Create purchase orders for miscellaneous outbound freight as needed

+ Process change orders that involve carriers, ship to addresses, and freight charges that occur as a result of an error or due to a customer request

+ Create freight only invoices as needed

+ Initiate claims/complaints with carriers and trailer provider

+ Track orders and provide proof of delivery per customer requests

+ Verify daily freight pick-up paperwork received from standard carriers to ensure correct billing rates and to ensure LCN invoice and BOL numbers are recorded for tracking and billing purposes

+ Verify monthly loading allowance checks from standard carriers to ensure checks are received and are for the correct amounts

+ Verify weekly and monthly outbound freight spending report from corporate logistics to ensure charges are only outbound LCN freight, not inbound and not for another Allegion site

+ Track “special attention” service requests; work with returns, engineering, quality, and credits to verify parts are received and analyzed and the customer receives requested communication, resolution, and credit

+ May perform other duties as assigned

+ Follow safety regulations; keep work areas and equipment clean and orderly using 5S standards

+ Flexibility to work overtime as needed

+ Perform tasks in a timely and accurate manner

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

+ Knowledge of principles and methods for moving goods by air, rail, sea, or land, including the relative costs and benefits

+ Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology

+ Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction

+ Strong skills in both written and verbal communication, active listening, and reading comprehension

+ Strong critical thinking skills including using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems

+ Strong problem solving skills in order to identify complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions

+ Proficient in computer applications including AS400, Siebel, Oracle, and MFGPRO

+ Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships

+ Ability to work effectively in independent situations and exercise good judgment to reach sound conclusions

+ Ability to use Kanban workflow for optimal performance

+ Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, schedules, rules, procedures, etc.

+ Ability to properly identify components and gain extensive parts knowledge

+ Ability to use CRT and data entry technologies (bar code, key entry)

+ Intermediate math and computer skills
