An excellent career opportunity is available for an Industrial Mechanic-Sr R&D Tech, located at UOP’s Research & Pilot Plant facility in McCook, IL.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Repair and service pumps, compressors, seals, packing, and bearings to support R&D Pilot Plant and Manufacturing facilities using safe work practices as defined by Honeywell.

+ Work with all types of hand tools to complete repairs, preventative maintenance, and/or modifications to equipment.

+ Ability to perform and lead others on basic and major mechanical repairs; knowledgeable with equipment troubleshooting and millwright rigging.

+ Support catalyst manufacturing plants through on-call schedules and working as a team on jobs requiring more than one person.

YOU MUST HAVE

+ High School Diploma or GED is required.

+ Able to follow all established safety procedures and protocols.

+ Working knowledge of rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, seals, packing, and bearings.

+ Experience and skill working with hand tools.

+ Must be capable of lifting up to 35 pounds, working on elevated platforms, climbing ladders and using portable lifts.

+ Must be able to be on call up to two weeks a month.

WE VALUE

+ Mechanical experience.

+ Welding experience.

+ Pipe Fitting experience.

+ Understanding and use of Microsoft Word and Excel.

+ Excellent verbal communication skills.

+ Capable of working in either Des Plaines or our McCook facility in Riverside, IL.
