Overview

Salary range for this position is $127,753-$169,291; Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.
POSITION SUMMARY: Manages day-to-day operations to achieve efficient and effective delivery of home infusion care. Leads the HIP Management Team to create highly-reliable compounding and delivery processes in which service, quality and safety achieve or exceed national benchmarks. Assists the Pharmacy Director in the execution of strategic initiatives of the division with a strong focus on financial stewardship. Identifies new business/therapies that support better health and care of patients in the home setting.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITY:

* Maintains oversight of all home infusion pharmacy operations across the Home Care division. This includes oversight of IV compounding and delivery services as well as oversight of pharmacy supervisors, technicians and pharmacists.

* Ensures the provision of service excellence for HIP patients and cultivates close working relationships with ancillary departments in OSF Home Care and throughout the Ministry.

* Directs all infusion-related clinical activities and may actively participate (as requested by the Pharmacy Director) in Ministry-wide P&T Committee including sub-committee appointments (eg. DAWG, Medication Management Advisory Council and the Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee) and presentations to the Professional Advisory Committee and creation of the Annual Program Evaluation

* In collaboration with and as directed by the Medical Director/Pharmacy Director, develops, oversees and delegates as necessary, all infusion medication protocols and collaborates with Professional Practice to ensure the integration of safe practices with infusion nursing.

* Leads quality and safety initiatives and participates in associated councils for the Home Care Division.

* Acts as the clinical resource for infusion software updates, integration and maintenance.

* In conjunction with Human Resources recruits, selects, orients, educates and when necessary, disciplines Mission Partners; maintains a safe, secure and legal work environment and assists with professional/personal growth opportunities.

* Works in concert with Staff Development, Supply Chain and other relevant home care providers to determine the safe, appropriate and cost-effective medical equipment/devices to be used in the delivery of home infusion care.

* Accomplishes financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances, initiating corrective actions.

* Consistently displays and encourages a culture of learning, teaching and promoting the advancement of best practices, technology, research and literature as it pertains to all aspects of infusion therapy in the home setting.


Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: PharmD OR Bachelor Pharmacy
Experience: One to three years management or related experience in home infusion services
Licensure/Certifications: Registered Pharmacist in Illinois
Maintains valid drivers license
Other skills or knowledge: Must be able to provide own transportation and auto insurance and abides by all laws, rules and recommendations for safe driving while on duty.
Must be able to use and operate medical and/or office equipment.
Knowledge of reimbursement and regulatory requirements for home infusion pharmacy.
Knowledge of sterile compounding best practices and regulations.
Experience working with government and accrediting agency officials.
Must be able to participate in clinical on-call rotation, as needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of five to seven years of progressively more responsible work related experience
