Job Description
This is a full-time, exempt position that reports to the Director of Physical Plant and is located on the JWCC campus in Quincy, Illinois. Position begins immediately.
Position responsibilities include managing the maintenance of all college owned and leased grounds such as landscaping, lawn care, irrigation system, Spring Valley Trails, athletic playing fields, parking areas, sidewalks, and roadways. The Grounds Manager is responsible for maintenance and repair of grounds equipment and snow removal equipment; performs a wide array of grounds maintenance duties including mowing, trimming, pruning, and landscaping; performs routine spraying applications for all College owned and leased grounds; manages the overall snow and ice removal response for the College including performing snow and ice removal duties and arranging for and assigning the appropriate manpower response; and is responsible for the Grounds Maintenance and Custodial budgets. This position supervises all full and part time grounds maintenance employees and main campus custodial employees along with assisting with the management of Regional Centers custodial efforts. The Manager will be the primary point person for all college event setups, will manage the setup and tear down for events, and will arrange for and assign the appropriate personnel.
