What will you be doing?

The Market Intelligence team plays a key role in ensuring the most relevant insights into our competitors and differentiation is available across the organization...and we are looking to add a member to the team. This is an opportunity to be part of a very small group that works at a fast pace on a broad variety of subjects relating to tracking the competition and evaluating companies operating in the data, retail, CPG and technology and assessing the competitive threat. This is a unique chance to learn new skills and market expertise while making a significant impact to Circana's Go-To-Market Strategy. The role collaborates closely with internal teams across the organization to gather, analyze and distribute actionable intelligence.

The individual will mainly assist with efforts related to Competition Tracking (i.e. competitive landscape, competitive news / noise and how it potentially impacts Circana) and the initial assessment of the other companies in regards to Circana (i.e. SWOT analysis, Harvey Ball assessment, GTM messaging etc.). The position is designed for a high-growth potential individual who can learn and develop in the role.

Job Responsibilities
  • Competitor Monitoring & Analysis: Proactively monitor the competition. Conduct in-depth research to identify our direct and indirect competitors, understand their strategies, strengths, weaknesses and positioning.
  • Communication: Identify and quickly distribute news involving competitors and market activity
  • Analysis: Conduct high-level assessments on direct competitors, indirect competitors and market trends. Develop and present materials which translate the learnings from research and analysis into an effective presentation and discussion materials for relevant stakeholders.
  • Tracking: Meticulously track competitive intel and maintain the Competitive Intelligence database.
  • Intel Submissions: Manage the submissions review process, from internal discussions to providing feedback to the submitters.
  • Competitive content: Compile both on-going and ad hoc reports on competitive intelligence that can be provided to internal stakeholders including (but not limited to) sales messaging, battlecards, competitive responses, etc.
  • Identify new sources of competitive intelligence.
  • Champion the competitive intel submission efforts with internal teams.
  • Participate in the competition tracking effort by fueling a pipeline of companies to review and report.
      Requirements
      • Bachelor's degree in Business (i.e. Finance, Marketing, Economics, Journalism) or a related field
      • 2-3 years of experience in a competitive intelligence/junior analyst or business development role a plus.
      • Understanding/Interest in the Market Research and Data landscapes
      • Ability to prioritize and manage several projects simultaneously
      • Out of the box thinking
      • Analytical thinking, and an ability to "connect the dots"
      • Proactive in proposing report ideas and research topics
      • Team player
      • High attention to detail
      • Growth mindset
      • Self-motivated with a strong work-ethic
      • Effective communicator with all levels internally.
      • Strong Excel & PowerPoint skills. Experience with data visualization tools a plus.

          This position can be located in the following area(s): Remote.

          The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.

          The salary range for this role is $61,000.00 $75,000.00.
