What will you be doing?

This role will create automated test frameworks, design, implementation of various regression test cases, writing and executing code to improve the overall testability and quality of the product.

You will be involved in debugging and delivery activities on a day to day routine ensuring final product meets the requirement.

Execution excellence is the expectation of a QA Director, which also defines that the software does not have any technical shortcomings when it is declared as QA certified.

Job Responsibilities
  • Development of test plans/strategy throughout the phases of the SDLC based on business requirements.
  • Develop test strategy and specifications that align with customer specifications and requirements, and technical design.
  • Plan and execute test cases for new product development as well as support for existing applications.
  • Develop Automate regression suite and execute release after release.
  • Works closely with Scrum team members to clarify requirements, ensure testability, and provide feedback on design.
  • Analyzes requirements and develops test cases to ensure full test coverage.
  • Responsible for the execution of software test cases as part of test plans/strategy or stress tests.
  • Streamlining test phase through process improvements and automation.
  • Communicates effectively with developers to ensure understanding of design and test results.
  • Log and track defects discovered during testing for assigned projects; regularly provide metrics and reports to QA management and project teams.
  • Represent QA in cross functional projects that involve members from various groups/organizations within IRI.
  • Report test status and metrics to management and project team stakeholders.
  • Define Framework approach, develop automated scripts using third party tools for regression test cases.
  • Continuously improve test coverage and validation cycle through design of test data sets and automation of regression test cases
  • Build integration test specification for overall systems framework.
  • Identify technical staffing requirements, and estimates.
  • Identify test environment needs and constraints.

Requirements
  • 12+ years of experience in IT environment in Web Application, DWH/BI testing background (data analysis, test development and execution)
  • Computer Science or equivalent (Technical Degree Preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of software development and testing methodologies, processes, and tools.
  • Experience in onshore/offshore model
  • Hands-on experience working in command line Linux environment.
  • Hands-on experience working in database design and SQL.
  • Hands-on experience with scripting languages (python, shell, perl )
  • Software application testing, QA methodologies & environments
  • Excellent documentation, writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with Test & Bug Management Tools - QC, X-ray, JIRA
  • Experience in analytical data validations and simulations a plus
  • Background in testing any of the BI tools (BO, Cognos, Tableau)
  • Performance Testing with any of the tools (LR, JMeter or other Tools)
  • Knowledge in Retail domain and Server memory management (nice to have skill)

This position can be located in the following area(s): Hybrid - Chicago, IL

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. The salary range for this role is $110k to $130k.

This job is also eligible for [bonus/incentive/commissions/equity] pay.
