Job Description
The Finance Project Manager will lead high visibility projects related to Medlines customer contracts and associated revenue and/or cost accounting. This role will also focus on implementing technology solutions and revenue related process improvement initiatives. This role will work collaboratively with various Medline departments including Finance, Accounting, Sales, Contracting and IT. Impacted financial systems include, but are not limited to: SAP, Vistex, Blackline and Tableau.

Review customer contracts to identify Medline obligations and ensure that the associated accounting is reflected properly within the accounting systems.

Proactively seek out and engage with key stakeholders to understand revenue recognition processes, systems, and internal controls.

Evaluate and risk assess the current revenue accounting processes, systems, and controls, including upstream and downstream inputs and sources to advance revenue data and process capabilities.

Develop and lead improvements in contract revenue accounting, implementing internal controls and managing projects that implement system capabilities that ensure the proper recognition of revenue.

Partner with internal controls team to design and maintain internal controls over revenue and GTN accounting and reporting.

Perform customer contract review, as required, to assess and document the appropriate accounting treatment in accordance with revenue accounting standard (ASC 606).

Direct and coordinate activities of project team personnel to ensure projects progress on schedule and results meet objectives, milestones, and scope.

Manage global Finance technology implementations and process improvement initiatives from initiation to project closure. Coordinate with IT as necessary on technology related projects.

Develop comprehensive project plans for all phases of the project in consultation with key stakeholders.

Communicates status reports on project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks and issues to senior management and key stakeholders.

Collaborate with functional leaders across Medline to develop training and change management plans.

Utilize creative and analytical thinking to develop solution alternatives and provide recommendations.

Manage multiple ongoing projects and ensure projects are completed according to time and budget schedules.

Drive resolution of project conflicts. Engage with senior management when necessary.

Ensure delivery of high-quality, cost-effective solutions to the business.
Requirements

Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or business.

At least 5 years of finance and/or accounting experience and 2 years of project management experience.

Experience presenting and reporting on project plans to appropriate stakeholders.

Complex problem-solving and the ability to navigate ambiguity and competing priorities.

Strong understanding of internal and external financial reporting.

Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: index/match, pivot tables, multiple if statements).
