JOB SUMMARY: This position will act as a hybrid role supporting Shared Services for Subrogation. The Subrogation Analyst will have three primary areas of responsibility which will rotate based on the needs of the business and at the direction of the Subrogation leadership team. This position will take a high volume of inbound calls to process a paperless health insurance subrogation caseload by investigating potential cases and pursuing med-pay, no-fault, liability, and workers' compensation recoveries. This position will also process incoming documents and schedule the appropriate follow-up tasks for the Case Manager while assisting in the initial or subsequent case development of Subrogation cases.
JOB ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Follow client specific procedures and guidelines, as well as compliance of state and federal laws.
2. Identify and develop subrogation opportunities, including setting up new cases based on incoming channels of communication, including calls from a high-call volume call center and a centralized digital mailroom.
3. Perform outbound calls to law firms and insurance companies to research and request case information to develop cases and place parties of interest on notice.
4. Assist as needed in providing call center support by taking inbound calls and documenting cases accordingly.
5. Respond timely to all electronic, written and verbal communications.Log information derived from written and verbal communication, where required maintain detailed and accurate records.Maintain a calendar diary to monitor case activity.
6. Validate case viability and terminate pursuit when necessary.
7. Maintain detailed and accurate case records and calendar diaries to monitor case activities to meet department expectations.
8. Maintain department productivity and quality standards.
9. Collaborate, coordinate, and communicate across disciplines and departments.
10. Maintain the agility to switch from various primary tasks to address the current needs of the business and participate in additional ad hoc projects as defined by Subrogation leadership.
11. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and requirements.
12. Demonstrate Company's Core Competencies and values held within.
13. Please note due to the exposure of PHI sensitive data -- this role is considered to be a High Risk Role.
14. Engage advice and/or help of Management to proactively resolve cases.Provide feedback to Management and unit on trends or developments.

JOB SCOPE: The incumbent works under general supervision while keeping the needs of external and internal customers as a priority when making decisions and taking action. The incumbent communicates across a base of clients, members, and their employers. The successful individual in this role must be open to feedback, teamwork, and show a keen interest in contributing ideas to improve existing departmental processes. Additionally, this role will be multi-functional, and the incumbent must be able to balance multiple projects. Decision making in the role is limited and must fall within established guidelines and may often end up being escalated to higher levels.
